Halloween in New Zealand

Halloween in New Zealand, well it's not a huge deal. Every year the big department stores stock up on costumes and candy, isles of the stuff, hoping for Halloween to become another commercialised cash event. Sad thing is I only saw 1 trick or treator last year and most of the Halloween stock was still in the isles nearly up to Christmas at reduced to clear prices.

I went trick or treating in my neighborhood as a kid along with my brother and a few cousins, we'd take off on our BMX bikes with what masks we could find in hand and canvas the entire hood, we'd knock on door after door yelling trick or treat hoping that some one would understand what was going on and give us some candy but most of the time the reaction was "what charity are you collecting for?"
which was kind of confusing to us.

Each year there were only about 3 groups going around trick or treating, us who had our bikes and masks, the no costume kids still with the school back packs on and the hard out kids in full costume along with mum, this was usually it but sometimes we'd get the out of neighborhood kids, strange they were, smelled like cheese.

As we roamed the streets we'd frequently pass the no costume kids, we'd pass on information about what houses were paying out and move on. For some reason the no costume kids always got the best stuff.

Being that Halloween wasn't very well known of down here we would rarely get candy, money was what we got mostly but we also got some very strange items also, the strangest lot we got was a 2 litre jug of milk, a can of creamed corn and a packet of crackers, I think they thought we were collecting for feed the homeless or something.

I see Halloween getting bigger in New Zealand every year, it has never been part of New Zealands history and I doubt many here would know the true meaning behind it what they would see for the most part is the corporate commercial side of it and that's what I think Halloween would mean to us here.

Plus it's heaps of fun for the kids.

Photo Friday Bright

I was just taking random pics from the passenger seat of my friends car, so far I think this is the best photo I've taken with my new camera given that we were driving at about 30kmh down a busy street and this was taken through a dirty wind screen as the next picture will show.

None of this is very paranormal but I thought the imagery fit this blog and how easy it is to pick up things that look like Orbs, not to impressed with orbs anymore especially after taking many pictures like the one above which is obviously dirt on the wind screen.

Vatican City ghost caught on tape

This is a strange one, it shows what appears to be a red cloaked figure filmed in a church by a tourist in the Vatican City. It looks to me to be kind of fake, it looks special effectsy, it's very bright and stands out well but who says ghosts can't look that way. A lot of the comments from youtube are in favour of it being a flag but doesn't explain why later on in the video the figure changes posistions and that nothing else in the area is lit up.

The Vatican City I would think would be a perfect place to capture ghosts with all it's history.

Meteor over New Zealand

A meteor or fire ball fell over the South Island of New Zealand today, here's a video of the news broadcast from TV3 about the fire ball, I don't know what the retention is like with their video streams so it might be gone in a few days. The video doesn't show this incident but it does show video of a previous meteor caught by a family rolling down a road which is pretty cool.

I remember in recent times a few more stories on the news about meteors falling above New Zealand, one involved a meteorite falling into some ones living room, I think they then sold it to meteorite collectors for a good sum (Here's that story). Also here's a video I found on youtube, this clip in pretty old most of the presenters left this network about 5 years ago.

Hehe bloody hell.

Grassy Noll ghost photo

Well it's been awhile between posts, my old computer broke and left me without access to the net. I pulled it apart and fiddled around carefully like, that didn't work, I tried cleaning every inch of it, that didn't work. I tried so many things to get it to work again, in the end I just started kicking and punching it, none of it worked so I went out and bought a brand spanking new machine, it's so much more speedier than my old machine I love it. Funny thing is I tried to boot up my old computer and it now works, every time I start it, dang computers.

Well since I've been gone I've received a few emails from people who seem to read my bloc, it's always great to get feed back from people. Makes me feel good that there is a purpose for this bloc.

I received this ghost picture through email from a person called Cat, Cat gave me some good feedback about this bloc which is very appreciated, she pointed out the objective feel of it which was cool because that is what I'm trying to achieve with this bloc, any how here's the info and ghost photo...

"It was taken in Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. That part of the province is quite hilly. It is also in the area of Fort St Anne, a citadel that was built in the 17ooÂ’s and Port Royal, the 1605 French settlement. Lots of entities would certainly wander here."

I think it'sfairlyy convincing, very crisp clear image of a human like figure making it's way up a grassy bank, I let y'all decide. Thank you Cat for sending me this picture, I like it very much.

I also got an email from the runner of the site Town Called Dobson, It's an online comic strip and what got me interested in it was the story line "It is based on a true story - a UFO cult that talks to evil space aliens on a ouija board. That is the true part!" I like the simplesleekk style of the strips and had me a few giggles.

That's all for now, need to get to grips with the new system.
