Frantic Area 51 caller on C2C

I first heard this audio while listening to the song "Faaip De Oiad" by Tool, I thought they had made it up, but a few years later I heard it online and was surprised by it's origins.

In 1997 on the Coast to Coast AM radio show Art Bell received a call from a distressed man claiming to be a former employee of Area 51, just as it was getting juicy the radio station got knocked off the air, the cause of the outage was put down to the satellite loosing earth lock, the backup system comes on, but without the frantic caller.

Apparently the frantic caller rang back a few weeks later and confessed it to be a hoax but I haven't been able to find any good info about that aspect.

Anyway taking this audio to a whole nother level is the video below which takes what the caller says and reverses it, apparently revealing a hidden message, something about global oceans warming and some kind of shield. To tell you the truth when I don't read the text that goes with this video I can't make out anything understandable, it takes a lot of effort.

Getting back to the original audio, I've always liked it and whenever I stumble across it I always give it a listen, real or fake, it still gives me the chills.

Unicorn Video

Thought this was a little fun, the video is said to have been filmed in Switzerland, looks a little unnatural to me, but who knows.

You get a brief glimpse of the said unicorn about 2/3 they way through the video.

I first saw the video under the title The Last Unicorn and I'm going off on a tangent here, that movie was one of my favorites, but I haven't seen it since I was like six years old, mum accidentally recorded The Goonies over it and that quickly became my favorite movie.

I must get those two movies out sometime, been ages.

Right, back on track, haven't been able to find any info on the video below apart from brief video descriptions, would be nice to know some good background info.

Happy Halloween Y'all

So Halloween has been and gone down here in New Zealand, we had no Trick or Treaters to our house this year, same as last year and the year before, though I did see two groups of Trick or Treaters on my way to work, very colorful and actually had costumes.

So it wasn't much of an event down here, though I just saw on the news Halloween is big in Japan and some of the costumes are awesome looking, well they love cosplay after all. A quick search resulted in an about page listing some of the Halloween events in Japan.

Office Furniture - SP

If I had an office I'd probably want some office furniture, a nice waiting room table and cheers, reception desk, conference table, all that would be pretty neat, if I had an office that is.

On a more homely note, a nice computer desk would be pretty good, something with a drawer, the one I currently have doesn't have one, it fell off while moving house.

Been doing some spring cleaning and working a lot lately so haven't had to much time for blogging, things should pick up eventually though.

I updated the header image, not to different but I think it stands out more, I also added a rating widget to the bottom of each post, I don't really know why, I think I may be suffering from widget withdrawal or something, not to many widgets around here these days. I've also been shuffling things around, hopefully for better navigation of this blog.

My PR also took a nose dive, most probably because of the sponsored posts and text link ads, also maybe because I have to many links without the Nofollow tags? no worries though nothing seems to have changed apart from PR.

Anyway have a good one peoples, should be swinging tomorrow.

Virgin Mary Pebble currently at $27,800

Some may have seen this about, it's a pebble showing what looks somewhat like the Virgin Mary that was found on a beach, the pebble is up for auction on a New Zealand auction site called Trademe and currently has a bid of $27,800, the auction closes in 16 or so hours.

Great for the person selling it and good on them to, if you can make some cash out of it, why not?

Also along with the success of that auction has come a few copycats, some are actually pretty funny as well like this one showing the grassy knoll shooters view and this Pebble That Doesn't look like Virgin Mary.

Anyway I guess it's time I grabbed my bucket and headed off to the beach, never know I may just find a pebble that looks like Bigfoot.

I don't know much about insurance, but I do know it helps if you have it in certain situations, life insurance is another matter altogether and well I don't really want to think about that. You can even have family insurance, I really don't know what that is, but I guess it's like life insurance but for the whole family.

Harlequin Babies on youtube

There are two videos on youtube that I stumble across a lot and I'm sure many have seen the videos I am talking about. I'm sick of seeing them labeled as Alien baby, reptilian baby and many other ignorant things.

These two videos show babies with Harlequin Ichthyosis which is a rare skin disorder making the skin hard and brittle.

The first time I saw either of these videos I cried, I just couldn't comprehend such a thing and thinking about my nieces I couldn't help but to think, what if? I don't know, it just seems so unfair or something.

What gets me is that even though its easy to find the real info about what afflicts these babies nearly everyday someone uploads the same videos with stupid info and stupid titles, I just wish they wouldn't, they are really emotional to watch and I have had quite a few misleading titles lead me to them, at least provide some useful information, not just made up on the spot or without research.

Update: Dr.Fong's Stone Head Photo

A reader left a comment on Doctor Fongs site leaving some brief info about the giant stone head, it's from Guatemala. You can read more about the stone head here, apparently it was destroyed by revolutionaries in the early 80s who used it for target practice.

I get the impression that it's still some what of a mystery because it doesn't fit with the local style of carving.

Still very interesting stuff.

Christ Caught on Mobile Phone

The description for this one on youtube says it was shot on a mobile phone on September 15 in Gyumri, Armenia, also here's a direct link to post on the site mentioned.

Seen quite a few similar videos recently like this one supposedly an angel caught on tape which is most probably not, but the video below is a lot more believable and to me quite unexplainable, my first reaction was to put it down to a reflection on the window, but then I noticed it didn't move how I'd expect it to and it actually does look like it is outside.

I don't know, though it's probably the most interesting video I've seen in days.

Was just over at Doctor Fong's House of Mysterious and saw the latest post was a call for help in identifying an intriguing old photo of a giant stone head.

I have no idea, never seen it before but would really like some info about it, as Dr. Fong says "I have always loved giant stone heads." and I've got to say I do to.

I Am Legend Looks pretty good

I haven't read I Am Legend and I don't know to much about the story but from the trailers it reminds me a lot of a New Zealand film from 1985 called The Quiet Earth.

Both are based off of books and both deal with the theme of the last person on earth. I haven't seen The Quiet Earth for sometime now but from what I remember it was a really interesting movie presenting interesting aspects of what one might do in this type of situation, me I'd always thought of going to the local hunting shop and stocking up on survival gears, I don't know why, there's no dangerous animals down here at all, but I like knives, handy in all situations.

I Am Legend looks to me to have the same potential, exploring ideas that myself would find very interesting, ideas that no matter how many times they're presented to you it always sparks the imagination. One thing about Legend that I wasn't expecting was that it seems to be a Vampire movie of sorts.

I'm looking forward to this movie for the same reason I like Kevin Costner's Water World and the Mad Max movies, those films hold great ideas and I'm hoping Legend does as well.

Just a quick post, haven't had much time the past week or so to get deep into blogging and likely wont have much time in the next week also, to much dang work, also sorry for all the SP posts below, I had a dead line that was catching up on me.

Wedding bands - SP

Who do I know that's getting married, well no one at all, not at this time anyway. I think that whenever I find that special someone choosing wedding bands would be something I would have some fun with. I'm not to sure if I entirely understand it though, and engagement ring is different than a wedding band isn't it?

Oh well, that's what you get from having parents who aren't married.

I think I've said this before and I'll say it again, buying a house could probably be very stressful and having the right people to help you out could make things a whole lot easier. If your looking for Scottsdale real estate, they seem to understand the emotions involved in such a venture, buying or selling there team will help you out and likely answer in questions you may have in the long run.

Vacation Rentals in Orlando - SP

I guess I would an Orlando vacation rental, having a vacation home would be very cool. I don't know much about Orlando though, so what's five things can I learn about the place in five minutes, Orlando is in Florida, there's Seaworld and Disney World, that's pretty cool, it's hot, it has one of the largest single story malls in U.S.A and is home of the Orlando Magic.

Seems like a very nice place, especially the amusement parks.

UFO falling in the Dessert

The video below is not of a UFO, though I've seen it described as one many times. It's footage of the Genesis space capsule that crashed to earth in the Utah desert 2004 after its parachutes failed to deploy.

I remember when I first saw the footage out of context, I thought the news was reporting on an actual UFO crash, then I turned up the volume.

I guess if one was to mistake a bit of footage as a UFO this would be a great example.

I hadn't seen this video before, it's pretty interesting. Working back when researching youtube finds is a pain in the behind, took me ages to track down what it was all about.

The video shows Sam Maranto of the Illinois Mutual UFO Network talking about some UFO cases at a Mufon conference, the second half shows the UFO footage which was shot by Rob Kritkausky august 19th 2004 in Phoenix, it looks like a large stationary UFO with red illuminations.

Taniwha - Maori Folklore

A couple days ago the subject of Taniwha popped up on Cryptomundo, so I thought it would be a good time to write about the subject to.

Taniwha were creatures that lived in the oceans, lakes and rivers. They appear in many different forms, whales, sharks, lizards and even as logs or driftwood. Mostly they were guardians of the people who associated themselves with them and would help the people out sometimes, giving warnings and such, but you did have to respect the creatures even if they were your guardian. Taniwha had the power to change the surrounding landscape and if you were closely associated with one you could possibly become one yourself.

There are many stories of Taniwha, most tribes had their own. When Maori arrived in New Zealand on various waka (canoes) from Hawaiki some were accompanied by Taniwha, in the case of my ancestry the waka Tainui had a Taniwha swim with it from Hawaiki, it was in the form of a whale.

I consider Taniwha to be natural beings, not so much supernatural, mainly because they appear to be actually living, breathing animals, whales and sharks, even dolphins. What's a little different is the inland ones which appear more reptile like with spines running down their backs, like a tuatara only the size of a whale, could they be stories of dinosaurs or crocodiles?

An example from recent times is the story of Pelorus Jack, a dolphin who would escort ships through Cook Strait in New Zealand, the Strait is dangerous in certain areas and Pelorus Jack would regularly appear escorting ships for over 20 years before the last sighting in 1912. I think Jack was given the title of Taniwha, but I'm not to sure on that.

You can't really liken them to Bigfoot or the Loch Ness monster, they're more like tales of dragons, they usually have a relationship to the environmental conditions and the stories usually come with knowledge that pertains to it's location that is valuable to people of that area. Take for example one of my tribes Taniwha, it appears as driftwood acting strangely out at sea, if you see it it could be an omen of danger, I take this to mean changing currents, bad weather on the way etc. My tribe has a few others that follow the same common sense approach.

I guess if you take the Pelorus Jack story into account, Taniwha don't seem so cryptid after all, just stories about creatures that the people of the time had an affinity with and had lessons that could be passed on.

Elton John Tickets - SP

About a year ago Elton John played here in New Zealand, my mum wanted Elton John tickets but I think the concert sold out pretty quickly.

Now I have noticed over the past few years that buying tickets for large events has become rather hard, you could potentially wait in line over night, be the first in que and when the window opens be told that it's already sold out. There's a couple of reasons for this, firstly from people using computers to buy them and secondly big corporations buying them in bulk.

I guess if you want the tickets, buying them online could increase your chances of getting them.

Just watched this video showing what looked a UFO near Area 51 found using google earth, the video had some adjustments done to the picture to better show it.

Bar Stools - SP

Seeing that I spend quite a bit of time in bars, well not as much as I used to, I know what bar stools are like, most of the time they are hard and wooden but after a few you can't really tell. Now if I were to own a bar someday or even have my own games room I'd have nice soft top stools, especially with what I have in mind, kitted up garage, dark board, in summer, cool breeze, a few beers and a bunch of mates, sounds like good times.

Sensing Murder Online Episodes

I just finished watching a New Zealand show called Sensing Murder, the premise of the show is to take cold case murder investigations, detail what is known about them though reenactments and in the second half of the show psychics come in to try to solve the case basically.

Tonight's one was pretty good, it was about a little girl who went missing in 1992, without a trace, they usually use two psychics in every show but this one had three, they do their thing individually and on different days.

The conclusion on this episode left me wondering if there would actually be an arrest, all info provided by the psychics seemed to be very consistent between each of them and even jogged the memory of the mother of the little girl which pointed to a man the psychics described.

Now I don't want to ruin it just in case you want to watch it. The TV channel that it is on provides pretty much every New Zealand made show for download which I think is just amazing, the downloads are big, 700mb, Sensing Murder is and hour and a half long, though that's with ad breaks. Just to warn you it's an addictive series.

Plasma Stands - SP

My brother has one of those Hi-def flat screen TVs, it fell over the other day, he was pretty freaked as it's a pretty expensive piece of gear, don't worry folks the TV is ok, hey ever notice whenever you tell people you don't have a TV they always think of how they can get you one, OK maybe not.

Maybe a plasma stand would make things more stable, protection against unwanted mishaps, I've bumped into my flat screen monitor a few times almost tipping it over, not very stable, a big screen would be much worse I guess.

Strange UFO Video from LuoYang China

This is an odd one and as with most youtube videos there's the bare minimum of information available, it doesn't help it's in a foreign language to me.

The video's from Sina News, haven't had any luck finding it on there and the description says it was filmed in LuoYang, China. The video shows a big orb type thing drop down into shot and looks to do some frenzied movements, I guess the zoomed in view distorts what we may be looking at a little, but other than that who knows. One of the comments left on youtube suggests that it may be a plastic bag floating around.

Looks kind of cool though, American Beauty styles.

External Hard Drives could be Handy - SP

I'm not one to delete things off of my computer very often, kind of a pack rat when it comes down to it, I have photos that I have taken using almost 20gigs of space. What would really come in handy is an external hard drive, something small that can fit nicely along side my computer, that way I can store all my photos with out clogging up my machine, that beast that it is, well not really all it's good for is surfing the web and watching videos.

Hidden Alien Mummy in Peru

This one has been a little hard to research, it seems the videos are on pretty much every video sharing site there is and tracking down any discussions has been hard, so I'll present the videos in the hope that someone can shed more light on them.

From the video descriptions the story goes along the lines of in 1974 a UFO crashed in the Andean mountains, the government covered it up but locals were able to hide one of the surviving aliens who later died and after 30 years of the body being hidden some people have tracked it down and are ready to show us.

It does look like an alien mummy, but then again it could be paper mache for all I know.

All the videos below tell various parts of the story, but are all pretty much the same with brief though good glimpses of the body.

Corporate Performance Management - SP

Who knows at some point I may need some corporate performance management, one thing I have come to learn is that to make money online you have to be good with money in the first place and to tell the truth I'm shocking at handling money.

I make good pocket money from my blogs, but to get beyond that to making a full time living is something I'm going to find difficult, I either need a couple dozen blogs like this one or I'm going to need a super site, both options for me anyhow would involve so much work that I really think it would be impossible unless I had a few partners, though I could work smarter, but I've always been one to do things the hard way first.

Blazing UFO over Brazil

The video description for this video says it was filmed over Piracicaba, Brazil on 4th July 2007, other than that I can't find any more information about it.

It's actually very pretty UFO footage, it looks like a meteor but it changes directions quite a lot, images of a fiery serpent come to mind. At a couple points through the video it seems to fade away and reappear again and you get to see it in relation to its surroundings, frankly I'm a little baffled by it, haven't seen anything quite like it.

Could it be some kind of fireworks display? a meteor? or something more tech, it does seem to have a special effects fire ball feel to it.

I get the feeling from the description that there's more of the video coming so I'll keep a look out for that and I'll update this post.

Update 14 Oct 07: Just found a thread on the Above Top Secret forums where you can see the original uploaded video along with a bunch of theories to what it may be, the guy who filmed it even pops in with more information about what he filmed.

Update: Thanks to Mike for leaving a link in his comment, it points to a post on another blog that has a couple other videos that look identical to the one above, you can see clearly that they are of parachutists with fire ball thingies attached to them.

Just stumbled across this, a little viewer interaction promo for Ghost Whisperer using youtube, CBS started the story off and people respond to that video with the next line in the story, so far though I don't think they've even gotten out of the kitchen.

Identifying Bigfoot Hoaxers

Haven't been able to get in front of the computer for the past few days, works been pretty busy and I'm just to tired to do anything, I'm free tonight and hopefully I find something interesting for y'all.

Anyway over at The Blogsquatcher there's a post about identifying Bigfoot hoaxers which is pretty cool, you could apply the list to just about any other paranormal phenomena and if you watch a lot of youtube videos you'll notice that most of them fall under some of these identifying points. The point that I have noticed also is the "Just plain crazy" point, there's a lot more out there than you may expect and I've found just leaving them alone works best, it's not nice feeling like you've confused someone even more.

Slot Cars and Toys - SP

Me and my brother used to have loads of fun playing with slot cars when we were younger, spent more time building them up than actually playing with them, adding toy soldiers, blocks and stuff.

We've still got the track if memory serves me, along with most of our old toys, combined a train set with the slot car set once with awesome results.

Haunted Hotels for Halloween

I thought I'd try something different out, putting a list together like the one below would probably take a few weeks of research, but luckily I can embed this one, below is from a site that has thousands of articles, videos that you can embed into your posts, they even pay ya to do so.

The list below is from TripAdvisor and lists the top ten Spookiest Hotels in America and I thought with Halloween coming up it would make a good post.

I'm liking number 4 on the list, wouldn't mind taking a cruise someday, especially that one.

Drug Rehab Center - SP

More deja vu going on here, anyway this drug rehab center looks more like a fancy hotel to me, but I guess if you want to get off of the stuff you probably need to be as comfortable as possible.

My dad used to work in this area and growing up dad would introduce us to quite a lot of the people in recovery, which was always pretty interesting, met some cool people.

Having some place to go to when you need help, when your going through hard times, when temptation calls can really help, but in the end it's all up to you, but rehab can help.

There's a few things that bother me about it, but I'll reserve judgment until I look at it more.

I'm having feelings on deja vu with this one, anyhow if your thinking of buying or selling property you could probably do it yourself but you don;t know what your doing you could probably stress yourself out, that's where you'll probably need some advice on real estate.

They know all the little things one would probably not think of, I wouldn't know how to write a contract or even begin to pretend to know where to start, anyway for me I'd need professional help, no not that kind.

Ufo in BBC Israel news coverage

Just stumbled across this one, this footage is from the BBC News website, I don't know anything about the date the news coverage was broadcast, but it was about the Syria, Israel conflict.
At about the 30 second mark you'll see a fighter jet fly over the other and you'll see what appears to be a shinny metalic object in between the two jets, there's also another object just before the bigger one, the BBC seem to have made nothing of it, probably didn't even see it or know it's nothing special or something.

I can't really decide what to think, a few thoughts are running through my head, smudges on the glass, another plane that just looks weird or a UFO, can't decide.

Yonaguni Monuments Video

Just finished watching a program from the History channel about the underwater Yonaguni Monuments in Japan. It was pretty interesting and it went into a little about if they're in fact man made structures and not natural it could mean another revision of history because the last time it would have been above water is estimated at 10,000 years ago, at the time we were pretty much chucking spears around I think.

From the videos and photos of the structure I can't really see how it would be useful to people, it does look man made, but it doesn't look purposeful, though at ten thousand years old it could have looked a whole lot different.

I don't know what it is lately, but everything I read and watch about ancient history always goes into Mesopotamian history and great floods of ancient times, maybe it's just that everything out of the box ends up on the net while everything main stream ends up in books.

Boo Post - Dogman Bigfoot and Drones

Sooo what was paranormal, well the last few days?

Haven't done one of these Boo Posts in awhile, I figured out I was doing them because I was lazy and I'm feeling that way now, to much Master Chief dissing the PS3 if you know what I mean.

Anyhoo, I spent most of the weekend at my brothers house, playing you guessed it Halo 3, pretty good game, but more of the same, with prettier graphics. When I got online again there were a few interesting stories that a lot of other sites had covered.

The Gable Film thing seemed to take off a little with Cryptomundo sinking its claws into the whole thing, still interesting stuff, I don't know if I'm more into the Internet drama or the seeing of strange things.

There was also the story of the two Chattanoogan men who captured Bigfoot on video pretty much by accident, the article says they will release the video once copyright has been established, but judging by the amount of interest on the net, they should be careful with the likes of youtube being so easy to use.

I was kind of shocked by how this one ended up, the Kentucky Eclipse UFO video, after watching it again I can see what people are seeing, a UFO Drone caught on video, that's right the story is alive again, well maybe not. Seen a few discussions and blog posts about it, but I only have this one handy at the mo, a thread on THoTH forum.

I'm sure there were a few more interesting ones, but I was to lazy to bookmark them, I'll probably come across them in the next few days anyhow.

Headache Treatment - SP

My mum has always suffered from migraines, though in the past few years they haven't been as frequent, I don't know why this is, she had headache treatment in the past and most of the solutions included relieving stress and eating properly, trying to narrow down what could be triggering them, but without knowing what it was all me mum was left with were pain killers.

Though her diet has changed quite a bit in the past few years and that could be a factor, better variety of healthy cheap food these days I guess.

Patterson Gimlin Enhancements

So what to do on those slow days, haven't posted in a few, well, share something I've been enjoying for quite awhile now and saved for a rainy day, I'm pretty sure I haven't posted this one yet and I'm sure every one's seen it and I did make a post about the Bigfoot Footage before and I think that video used the same material as the one below, but I like the way this one is edited together.

It's just a bunch of various enhancements of the Patterson Gimlin bigfoot footage, it keeps repeating and each one has been enhanced in various ways, kind of reminds me of the animated gif images you sometimes see.

You get to see some great details in this, muscle flexing, hair movement etc and one feature I've read some about which is that the subject appears to be female, most versions on youtube are so crappy that you don't really get to see this stuff.
