Changing Electric Guitar Strings

When I owned and electric guitar I used the strings that came already on it, I did buy an extra set, but I can't remember what type, they may have been a set of ej22, but seeing that my skill level wasn't that of a jazz player, they may not have been. I did have to change the strings out from time to time and when I did it felt so fresh and so clean.
