Oopart stands for Out of Place Artifact, in other words an artifact that doesn't fit or belong to where it was found, confusing matters.
Various groups hang on to cases of oopart as evidence of their beliefs, as evidence against mainstream ideas and so on, myself I just find it interesting.
Angkor Wat Dinosaur
Above is an image of a carving found at the temple of Angkor Wat in Cambodia, some believe it to show a stegosaurus, evidence that dinosaurs lived along side humans no littler than 1000 years ago. Strictly speaking I don't know if you could call it oopart, there's bugger all info on the subject apart from those with agendas and the image above seems to be one of only a few available, I'd expect more photos seeing that it's a tourist spot.
It does seem out of place if you look at it as a dinosaur, but for me I can liken to any number of other animals.
Cryptomundo has a nice write up from when the story was hot, seems to be no new news on the subject in the 2 years since then.

ReplyDeleteCheers for that bigdog, thanks for the link with the actors names to. Cool video though.
ReplyDeleteThey could have dug up a dino skeleton and thought it exists in todays world .
ReplyDeleteIt could very well be a carving representing the Javan rhinoceros with something else depicted behind it rather than stegosaurus-type plates along its back. However, I'm not sure that that rhino has a tail quite like that. Fascinating.
ReplyDeletethis is not something new for me, do see sometime the ancient scripts in Egyptian pyramid? when you hear this you say "nothing special" the problem is when you see the pictures and discover, that many of them have curious shapes, helicopters, zeppelins, cars, and UFO's!!!
