Zeitgeist Refuted

The video below was left in the comments for my post about Zeitgeist the Movie, looks well made and from what I can gather only deals with the religious aspect of Zeitgeist.

I've been trying like crazy to get it to stream well, but for me google video is sucking, probably give it another go later.

I was expecting a video response to Zeitgeist like this one, well made with a similar style but of the opposite view.

Let me know if it's worth the watch if you get to watch it.

not very good. Only watched about 15 minutes because I am not a fan of constant argumentum ad hominem attacks.

  3. Yea I've only be able to watch about the same amount, the constant negative name dropping and trying to associate the sources with a negative groups and what not kind of put me off, though it is another perspective that I'll leave up.

Amazing that someone takes this much time to refute an online movie, but religion is dissolved for me, any rant on how any religion is truth in any way shape or form tends to make me yawn.

This response just tells me that they are scared of what Zeitgeist said.

The big argument as always is, the bible says its true, so it must be and everything else is satan. We've heard it all before.

I was glad to find this online today. Upon watching Zeitgeist, for every point they made, I had a refutation already in my mind. Having read most of the mythologies of the gods he mentioned, I knew that what he said was not true. Also ... the ridiculousness of using the word "Sun" as though that word translates to the same word as "Son" ... Um. No? LoL

I had previously posted a review to Zeitgeist on another site that said, as follows:

Most of the information given on religion is either false, misrepresented, or taken from documents that are, simply, out of date. There are several sites online that detail these misapprehensions, many of which reference archaeologists and scientists. Because the beginning is so obviously false to anyone who has studied mythology or religion ... even by simply reading the accounts of the gods ... I have a great deal of trouble giving the rest of the video credance, and, in fact, do not do so.

The film is biased but well documented. It may not be very appealing to a skeptic because of its bias toward christianity, however, the film accurately points out the Zeitgeist's outdated sources, logical fallacies, exagerations, and flat out errors.

The Zeitgeist can probably make the Catholic question his/her beliefs of tradition because Catholicism is christianity syncretised with paganism. But the film cannot cannot debunk Bible-based protestantism without using post-New Testament sources. If any religion plagiarised another, paganism plagiarised Christianity because all of the Christlike characteristics allegedly present before Christ, comes from historical evidence hundreds of years after the explosion of christianity.

  7. I thought that Zetgeist refuted was a much more serious and had sources for everything, I dont understand you gays who have come to the conclusion that Zeitgeist Refuted uses the BIG argument "the bible is always true", you can not have watched the documentary at all. It even used atheist scientists. It is good to see that people are willing to actually CHECK the facts before they make up their mind. It isnt strange that people are being mislead when they just blindly accept a "documentary" like Zeitgeist, and Zeitgeist refuted for that matter. I think it is scary how easily people make up their mind of something even without checking if its REALLY TRUE first. I believe in Jesus and i thought that Zeitgeist seemed logical and many of the arguments seems reasonabole at first, but if you go in deep you find that it is only a conspiricy and a wishthought.

Check the facts before you make up your mind.
    Best regards Eirik (from Norway)

to Erithe who said "Most of the information given [...] is either false, misrepresented, or taken from documents that are, simply, out of date"

Right, like the Bible. Fight fire with fire.

    it's a no brainer....
    religion != spirituality
Interesting thought,is to see that the other issues raised by "Zeitgeist: the movie", shamefully did not make such an impact.
Being a refutation , it´s ridiculously absent of sources (ohh yeah you have "the book" "the bible")...

  11. There are many untruths exhibited in ZEITGEIST the MOVIE, ZEITGEIST ADDENDUM and ZEITGEIST REFUTED, and I find "that" interesting. Also interesting are things like the APOCRYPHA and the GOSPEL of JUDAS. All together, I found many unjustified lies in each. Without the use of a time machine, it remains disputable. Thanks for making the whole video available. I dislike watching ten minute segments on YOUTUBE.

The Bible is and will continue to be something that serves as a focus for debate, which is a terrible thing. Because it is HATED as a collection by those who either became disenchanted with the beliefs of those who exposed them to it (parents, hypocritical ministers, rebellious ones within a congregation, etc.) or by quickly-bought-into counter arguments (such as the myriad of those found online) --yes, because of these things, any individual who is not predisposed toward WANTING to understand it, or is truly and completely unbiased (impossible) --for them, it will forever be a challenge to embrace or even acknowledge with respect.

It is no less a disappointment, however, to see people whole-heartedly supporting it and the religions that champion its use without their own individual inspection and testing. STUDYING something requires that you sacrifice something, usually your time, and invest it into a deliberate examination... something that the modern world makes either unattractive or unfeasible.

And because of this, only those who truly WANT to know and understand this book, REALLY every make such an effort. And when such efforts are made to shoot it down or undermine someone's endeavoring to read and comprehend the existence and involvement of a god in his or her life, I feel only pity --for all those involved.

To the skeptics out there, I truly understand your motivations. I dont want to be hypocrite. I dont want to waste my time. And I certainly dont want to mislead or be misled. But how can these things be overcome without risk of believing? Especially if the proofs can only be found in the search? And not just a one-shot, but a continual one? Doing such a thing is what it means to be a true Christian. Its a narrow road, with few friends. It is littered with one's own insecurities and the world's... And a brave student of the Bible must let such faith be tested, welcoming legitimate challenges but dismissing those intended only for ridicule.

I for one dont want to believe in a fantasy, but I have a hard time looking at the world around me and NOT seeing exactly what God said would be. And if a 3500 year old book can pin point such details, it is either the most elaborate of conspiracies ever committed to print, or worse... a true to life horror story whose end is imminent, which God is begging us not to ignore.
