Legal Intervention against the Large Hadron Collider

Seems some people are a little worried about what effects the Large Hadron Collider could have on earth.

A website has been set-up in search for donations for a legal fund that hopes to set an intervention on CERN's plans for the large Hadron Collider, well until a full risk assessment has been done.

Sounds like a good idea actually, the colliders Sci-Fi huge and I can't think of anything on a scale similar to this project, so maybe they should think about all possible negative outcomes before they go full speed, makes sense.

Though I don't know a whole lot about the specifics of this project, with something so huge, there's bound to be things overlooked.

  1. I got the impression that the people behind the legal intervention may want independent sources to check out the evidence.

This things huge and there's a lot of money involved, do you really think the backers of the project want it to be shut down? Could bad test results shut it down? could people with loads of cash hide it?

    All valid questions I think.

Either way I'm not to bothered, gonna be cool to see what happens.
