Heavy Lifting

No to sure what this kind of workholding is, I'm guessing they're some kind of hydraulic cylinder, even then I'm not to sure what they're used for, maybe they're for the slight lifting of heavy objects. Yea I guess this is the type of thing one would need to lift something slightly, like heavy stationary machinery, a lot of power and grunt.
